Muni killed the 15 and replaced it with the 9X due to changes on the 3rd street corridor. The problem is that the 9X doesn’t pass through FIDA / SOMA as the 15 used to do. Now it is particularly difficult for people who live in Russian Hill, North Beach, or Telegraph to get to and from Downtown. These are vital residential neighborhoods that ought to have at least 1 option for getting downtown via public transit. Does Stockton / Chinatown really need a 3rd bus line at the expense of everyone else? It simply doesn’t make sense. Why don’t you beef up the existing lines in Chinatown to accommodate usage and route 9x through Downtown?
