Train and hire people that are already in the City, and stop trying to see how much the City can pay to those brought in from elsewhere. San Francisco has just as many bright, intelligent, educated people as any other major city. I have said this time and time again; we need to accomodate our own first and maybe people won’t have to leave this city.
Give these young people that want to work jobs in City hall and other city servicing areas, where eventually young people can turn their lives around and be the productive citizens that they can be. It makes no sense to me that people have to leave and San Francisco officials have to send out of state to hire folk.
It just irks me to no end to watch a dog walker allow their dog to "crap" and urinate on the sidewalks when they think no one is watching, but when they spot someone they come out with a bag. If the dog walker is going to clean up when someone is looking, why not practice it when no one is around. I say the first offense deserves a citiation and the next time give them a ticket just like with drivers when they commit an offense.
