The free newspapers and door knocker advertisements end up on the streets of SF. Similar to the ban on the use of plastic shopping bags, the city should consider a similar ban. The waste of paper alone is costly and the continual paper in the streets, on the sidewalks, in the bushes, etc. contributes to the feel that SF is unkept and dirty.

This is a fantastic idea and one I’ve heard mentioned by many different people. The newspapers and door hangers just end up blowing around on the sidewalks and in the streets. There is really no reason to have them.
