Why not deputize some new officers strictly for traffic enforcement and have them routinely patrol different areas for pesky traffic infractions, e.g., sidewalk parking, driveways, over-the-curb parking, etc. I guess they couldn’t stop autos for moving violations, but it sure would be nice to see more of that kind of enforcement. The city coffers would be overflowing (and probably cover the cost plus some). Not a day goes by that someone doesn’t try to run me over, either running a red light, or not stopping at a turn when I’m ready to cross. (I have to pay close attention, but I worry about kids, elderly, and anyone! Thanks.
