I have an issue for you, I know you probably gets tons a day, but I may as well try.
I ride BMX. This is similar to skateboarding, but on a bike. I have been doing this for 6 years, and have met many friends throughout California thanks to it. I end up getting in a lot of trouble with the law because of my sport. There is literally nowhere in the Bay Area to legally practice our sport. We used to have the Vans Skatepark in the Great Mall of Milpitas, but it closed because it was being solely supported by the bikes, since skateboarders had so many public parks.
I know that SF recently broke ground on a new skatepark. Is there any way we can make this a bike/skate park? I know some fellow riders in Pacifica are trying to organize a bikepark, but that’s going to take years. Skateboarders complain about damage caused by bikes in parks, although they cause the same damage with their boards.
If there’s a way, I would love to help make it a reality.
