Almost 2/3 of CCSF’s RN Fall 07 class are out of county residents. Universal Health care for SF residents is great but who will staff the centers when our own community college is educating and training residents of other counties to become nurses. In the event of disaster, where does SF want a good number of their nurses to be: at home in another county or right here in SF? Don’t we rely on our community college to serve our community? Looking at the numbers, the admissions policy into CCSF’s RN program does exactly the opposite! When it comes to obtaining this highly sought after and affordable degree, SF residents are left with a small window of opportunity.
