Because we have an affordable housing shortage, you should make all IN-Law apartments Legal in San Francisco. Mayor Brown tried to do this, but did not finish. People who have In-Law apartments can afford to rent them at a reasonable price. I have several friends who have them, but are afraid to say anything.

Mr. Mayor,
We all know MUNI is currently a mess. Particularly light rail since the T line was implemented. The N line in particular has been a nightmare. It seems that the head of MUNI is a great mouthpiece, but shows little in the way of action and solution. It also seems logical that the city, and the Mayor, need to stop looking at MUNI as a public transportation entity and more as a supply chain. What are the most effective, efficient and profitable supply chains; and how do we co-op those principles for our city are also questions that should Read This Post »

Parking fine fees have been increased to help off-set MUNI budget shortages. Why not increase moving violation fees to help increase traffic and, more importantly, pedestrian safety. As Susan Leal once said, "it is anarchy on our streets." And the situation has only gotten worse since her stance led to an increase in the number of traffic cameras. Although never happy about advocating for anything Big-Brother like, if drivers (and motorcyclists and bikers) will not comport themselves in a safe and lega manner, then the City has an obligation to intervene. Higher fines, more traffic cameras, increase police presence, and Read This Post »

Pass it. Support it. Become a world leader. Create a model that other cities might follow.
Spare the native Southwest, long torured by coal-fired power, and spare Bayview Hunters Point from the gas turbine peaker plants, and the oil-burning plant sitll out there.
And, as the vote approaches, watch this viceo: http://blip.tv/file/133936/

Put pressure on CCSF to give SF residents priority over non-residents in the RN admissions policy. The State Board that governs these policies allows for residential preference in impacted programs. Surrounding Bay area counties give their residents preference.

Train and hire people that are already in the City, and stop trying to see how much the City can pay to those brought in from elsewhere. San Francisco has just as many bright, intelligent, educated people as any other major city. I have said this time and time again; we need to accomodate our own first and maybe people won't have to leave this city.
Give these young people that want to work jobs in City hall and other city servicing areas, where eventually young people can turn their lives around and be the productive citizens that they can be. Read This Post »

1. Institute a suit in Federal Court forcing the Board of Supervisors to realign districts on a realistic count of legal residents. I'm convinced that the current districts are, in many cases, drawn out of proportion to their actual population. South of Market is a good example. They have a vote, and so does the huge Sunset District. Doesn't compute, at least to me.
2. 11 Supervisors are too many for a 7 mile by 7 mile city. The reason we have so many is because 100 years ago, the county of San Francisco stretched all the way to San Francisquito Read This Post »

Stop all the touchy-feely nonsense, and start enforcing the laws. Put more money into the police force instead of "feel good" programs. Arrest and prosecute criminals, and clean up the streets. For the cost of living in San Francisco, it is outrageous that I have to walk over human feces on my way to work downtown, while trying to avoid psychotic homeless people demanding money.

Why can't we "clean up" the SF homeless problem the same way Rudy G "cleaned" New York's? I was just in New York & didn't get hassled at all by homeless people wanting money & food, etc which makes our city so undesireable.

You have to let the voters know much more than you do right now about how much you have done for the city. One of the City architects told me at a wake of all things how much you have done for public housing. I had never heard of it. Talk of your accomplishments. Talk about your contributions. Get it into any paper you can. It has to get out much broader than you are doing. I want you to get re-elected. Don't get involved in squabbles right now or anything that has been a controversy. Talk about your accomplishments Read This Post »

Reduce the number of homeless in San Francisco and therefor the burden on city services by providing these service only to those formerly residents here. San Francisco is the dumping ground for other communities which know we have no restrictions. Let's take care of our own, and ask others to do the same for theirs.

Increase revenues and decrease congestion in Golden Gate park by installing parking meters or other fee mechanism on the streets now free to anyone and charging parking fees during weekday business hours.

I have been reading about the money lost for Muni when passengers jump on for a free ride. I see it myself. I was thinking that SF/Muni should install on every Muni back door a machine where you swipe your Muni pass. This would gain entrance to the bus/train. All cash paying riders must go through the front door. I know it may slow up some of the busy stops, but it would probably be the cheapest way to solve the problems. Most other major cities have the major subway type stops with the same idea. Since SF makes city Read This Post »

I cannot conceive the thought that the SFPD officers would considering profiling people. The SFPD job is to protect our City from criminals. Police Officers only arrest people who are committing crimes and lots of time it might be the same person whos is getting arrest over and over again. Anyone can say that there is racial profiling going on in the police department. The bottom line is to prove that it is actually occurring.
Find out who these people are that claiming that they are being racially profile from the police department?

Please, please soon pave the JFK lower drive(below transverse drive) in Golden Gate park. It is a major, major hazard for bicycles and terrible for cars and tourists!

I highly recommend that coffee shops in SF (as well as potentially other eating establishments) should have recycling containers available for recycling their cups and paper goods.
