In areas where homeless and transient people congregate, those new green paper bins should be removed. Example: The corner of 7th/Market (check cashing corner) there are two of these green bins. They are separated just enough for a man to stand in between them and urinate w/o being exposed. The urine cascades out in front of the BART/MUNI entry stairs. This happens every day. It smells terrible and tourist notice them doing it which makes our City look bad.

The Hall of Justice jury room is a depressing place akin to the DMV & Unemployment office. Its a cattle call & needs to be changed. Many tax paying San Franciscans who are called to serve who are self employed & will lose money & receive no parking are making enough of a sacrifice. They should be treated with respect by employees & the environment. The Smart solution is to have smaller rooms that are comfortable, cheery & the employees should treat prospective Jury duty people with utmost respect.

Thank goodness Earthlink backed out of the deal. This is a golden opportunity to move on to more pressing matters. "Free" WiFi was never, of course, going to be free -- there would be substantial disruptive costs to building this system and granting a quasi-monopoly to Google/Earthlink that would have hurt SF in the short and long term. And SF running the system itself is even worse! It takes courage and leadership to change course when it's called for. This is one of those times. Forget "Free" WiFi and move on!
For more on why "Free" WiFi is a terrible idea,
