We should move, cautiously, toward eliminating some MUNI stops. I'm out here near 19th Avenue & Judah. There are stops at Judah & 12th Avenue and one block away at Judah & Funston. This never made sense to me. Perhaps we can start with this one. I know it's just one, but we could use all the good karma we can get.

1) We need separate lane just for bicycle (next to pedestrian pavement) like Europe, instead of letting the bicyclist ride through the traffic & pedestrians dangerously.
2) We need more traffic light timers on 19th Avenue to avoid unnecessary accidents for crossroad pedestrians, esp. for the seniors and people with leg & knee problem. Instead, we have traffic light timers on 7th Avenue and not on 9th Avenue in Sunset. Wider road or Blvd need timer as it takes longer time to cross.
Thank you!
Vivienne

Build a 'cross town tunnel' down 19th avenue. It's called cut and cover. 19th avenue could then become an Octavia Blvd. for local traffic only.

Mayor Newsom - I live in the Parkside District. I have four school aged kids. They attend local schools. As you know, 19th Avenue is a free way with stop lights running through a residential area. I am on the CAC for the SFCTA and understand many of the complexities of dealing with this stretch of road. However, to mitigate some of the danger couldn't a series of raised walkways over 19th Avenue be built so people do not have to try to walk across the road itself. I know this costs money, but some sort of modest solution is

Build two cross town tunnels to ELIMINATE a huge amount of traffic in our city. Traffic that simply wants to get from Marin to the peninsula and visa versa.
(1) 19th Avenue: Cut and Cover. No on or off ramps. When finished 19th Avenue can become another Octavia Blvd. Beautiful and tree lined.
(2) From the 80 to the GG Bridge (essentially the Hwy. 101 Tunnel).
If Boston can it, why can't San Francisco? Put Nancy Pelosi to work for us.
