I was just in NYC and was amazed at how much cleaner their streets are than ours. As I'd walk down the street at 8am, the sidewalks had all been hosed down and seemed almost pristine. As opposed to Market Street in SF. I work at 3rd and Market, and the streets are disgustingly dirty. Obviously we have water issues they may not have, but the machines which "clean" our streets using no water do not do the trick. It really needs to be addressed as it adversely affects how one views our remarkable city.

How about tearing down the current Caltrain station and rebuild the beautiful station that we used to have at 3rd and Townsend. Small shops on the ground floor, a market in front twice a week. The new underground will run right by there anyway. The City will have another mini environment which will create interest for locals and tourists.
Ugly, ugly regional center. Stop spending money on consultants and
