Most cars are speeding in s.f. and we need to make the speed limit 25 mph. A lot of jay walkers and people are getting killed because they do not come to a complete stop at corners turning and the pedestrian comes first. Put cameras taking pictures of speeding, and red light runners and give them a $500.00 fine or do community service work. Have a great day.

I think the solution is to set up more surveillance cameras in the high crime areas and have the police officers view and monitor the surveillance cameras like Chicago PD does.
Investing money in the GPS machine that detects were gunshots are fired at, I think it would be a waste of money, especially when you can spend that money on important areas that are needed. Do you think the police officers would be able to respond to the scene quick enough and catch the suspect on hand. If so then more power to the device, if not it would be

I recently set up a video surveillance system for a store here in Modesto (I'm a Chronicle reader) and wanted to express some things we discovered. First, Ebay was the best deal for equipment and hong kong dealers better yet with 10 days wait for delivery.
Trying to solve our night surveillance issues we learned that the night vision cameras are basically a camera that operates in dim light and they have an led flashlight to light the darkness, more led's the brighter. Problem is that to see what's going on you need to see the area from a distance and

Parking fine fees have been increased to help off-set MUNI budget shortages. Why not increase moving violation fees to help increase traffic and, more importantly, pedestrian safety. As Susan Leal once said, "it is anarchy on our streets." And the situation has only gotten worse since her stance led to an increase in the number of traffic cameras. Although never happy about advocating for anything Big-Brother like, if drivers (and motorcyclists and bikers) will not comport themselves in a safe and lega manner, then the City has an obligation to intervene. Higher fines, more traffic cameras, increase police presence, and

This is a wonderful idea. How about bringing this to San Francisco. And even better, apply it to MUNI drivers especially.
Red-Light Fines To Go To Police
18:00 4/12/2007, Techgage News
Starting Sunday, any Dallas police officer in a marked squad car who is captured on the city's cameras running a red light will have to pay the $75 fine if the incident doesn't comply with state law. Firefighters who run red lights will have to pay if they're not on an emergency run.
This is fantastic. Even in my small town, I've seen officers run red lights unnecessarily. Some of the police on
