The corporate/government response to the current spill has been unconscionable.
The SF Bay communities include vast numbers of well informed, engaged people bound closely to their bay, their ocean, their wildlife, their cities.
That a smattering of volunteer organizations have been left to filter the massive outpouring of eagerness to help is inefficient and exasperating.
At the very least, an equivalent to the NERT volunteers who could at very very least quickly post warnings on beaches (Ocean Beach was left open for a day with tarballs fouling clothing and endangering the lives of people and companion animals because there were no

Hello Gavin,
My wife and I are SF residents and have been traveling around the country and Canada for nearly 2 years. We both sent in the absentee ballot form and stipulated that the ballot be mailed to a different address (not our SF address). This is clearly stated as an option on the absentee ballot form. Whoever was responsible at City Hall sent it incorrectly to our home address instead. Because of this error we were unable to vote. We were surprised that both of our absentee ballots were sent to the wrong address and wondered whether MANY others had

I think the City of San Francisco should purchase the AAA building on Van Ness Avenue (near City Hall). It could be used for City Offices - this would save rent that the City now pay to rent space -- any extra space could be rented out to Corporations or Companies.

Dear Mayor Newsom, if I were mayor, I would continue with your valiant efforts to improve both San Francisco citizens' quality of life and tourism by making San Francisco cleaner and more fun. The challenges are, of course, homelessness which is an eyesore, infrastructure maintenance, and better planning for a more "user friendly" city. For example, Golden Gate Park is very pretty to drive through, but seems to lack a center where people gather and sit and be social or people watch. I find this to be lacking in SF in general. Union Square doesn't really capture it, nor does

Train and hire people that are already in the City, and stop trying to see how much the City can pay to those brought in from elsewhere. San Francisco has just as many bright, intelligent, educated people as any other major city. I have said this time and time again; we need to accomodate our own first and maybe people won't have to leave this city.
Give these young people that want to work jobs in City hall and other city servicing areas, where eventually young people can turn their lives around and be the productive citizens that they can be.

When he first took office Mayor Gavin Newsom made time to schedule meetings one-on-one with the people of San Francisco. He and San Francisco would both be well served should he make himself available for such a program.

I work for the City and County of SF in the Dept of Health. I think we badly need a single City of SF Services Building that could be built somewhere near City Hall. Many of the city's departments are spread all over in leased space that are making lots of money for the landlords, and losing lots of money for the city. If we were all combined in one large building, clients could get many of their health services and social services in one location, and residents could find building, planning, MUNI, DPW, etc all in one place. The

Dear Honorable Mayor,
As constituent of San Francisco, I am quite sure of "Deaf-resistance" Mayor Newsom's Office has failed to bridge the gap of entity. I have lived in San Francisco for nearly ten years. I am ashamed of MOD's Office for discrimination against Deafhood. I am requesting access to a free of charge Sign Language Interpreter so I can join society and communicate socially, academically and so he can work. I am asking for 250 hours a year of services so I can begin an interactive human life. The inability to communicate is depressing and frustrating, putting my other medical
