There are an unacceptable number of delays on the Metro. On Metro lines from Caltrain (formerly N, now T and J), trains have to wait for as much as 10+ minutes to enter the tunnel between Folsom and Embarcadero, and then often stop multiple times in the tunnel before reaching Embarcadero station. The situation is similar for the J and N entering the tunnel at Church St. Separately, passengers waiting for a given line may wait for 25+ minutes while multiple trains for every other line pass. 1.    Run 2 car trains during rush hours (7-10am and 4-7pm). Single cars are a waste of your resources. It would only require a small amount of resources to end up doubling your capacity making it easier to get on a train and get me to work in a reasonable amount of time. 2.    Require tickets to be pre-purchased like in most other cities. Having the drivers selling tickets greatly slows down the Muni system and puts lots of stress on drivers who should only be focused on driving safely. Actually HOLD MUNI accountable for their atrocious performance.  This doesn't mean handing out apology letters.  This means if their performance is UNACCEPTABLE, which it is, clean house.  TOP TO BOTTOM. I read in the chronicle today about a train driver who decided he had to have a bathroom break @ Embarcadero Station during the morning commute, backing up trains all through the system.  This problem is at both the managerial and employee level.  When I have to ask simple questions to employees in the information booth, all I get is attitude, and sometime verbal acknowledgement.  Mostly, though I get an inconvenienced Read This Posty »
