Hello Mayor Newsom,
I am so glad that you have created this website! Have wanted to share ideas with you for a while. Just returned from 2 weeks in Europe and was impressed with some of the environmental things they do to conserve energy that would be great for our country and, of course, San Francisco is the city to lead the way...
1. Have lights for public areas set on motion sensors to conserve energy. This would be great for restaurants, stairwells in apartments, parking garages, bathrooms, office buildings, etc. Why do we need to have the lights on in empty office buildings

Muni's fare evaders have been costing the transit agency millions of dollars a year and now, Mayor Gavin Newsom is considering free rides for all. Maybe you have not noticed, but a bus stops at almost every block, sometimes twice on the same block, at each end of the street. This is ridiculous!
Bus stops should be spaced at about every three blocks, like the limiteds, and at only one corner of that block. Make the limiteds stop at every 5th or 6th block. If you fear

Make Muni fare free for a one year trial period and simultaneously launch a PBS style pledge campaign to "keep muni free" beyond the one year trial. The City will collect more in pledges than the cost of current fare collections.
