Well for over 12 years now I have been taking the 2819th Avenue Bus from the Sunset district out to Ghirardelli Square. This is the bus that goes to the lookout point right at the bridge where the gift shop and snack shop are located. on a regular basis. With all the tourists visiting our city they of course flock to the bridge and then need directions to get to various points of interest within San Francisco. Everyday there are literally lines of tourists especially during the Summer months who automatically get on any bus which stops at that point,

Light beams that activate airbags that are deployed from underneath the bridge to scoop-up jumpers and hold them until help arrives. bags can have kevlar threads to keep someone from cutting themselves loose once bagged. The light beams are mounted along the railing and just below the railing to activate the airbags. Maybe weight sensors to acknowledge the weight of someone trying to hoist themselves uo and over the railing. This way something, say a bird, wouldn't set off the bags

To connect Marin county with the end of cal train in SF - create a new mass transit system -- which utilizes pre-existing roadways and is built on an elevated BART-like track right down the center median (and sometimes on the sides when necessary) and utilizing the pre-existing passageway that leads under the golden gate bridges' roadbed leading into Marin county (the GG bridge designer had a futuristic vision and saw mass transit in the bridges' future, so the potential excess weight tolerances are likely built-in)...

I've been doing a lot of reading re the GG Bridge fencing or lack there of. This has been ongoing since the bridge was built. Unfortunately the choice of materials for the fence-chain link-to prevent suicides-is at worst ineffective & appallingly ugly. Why not present as a public art event, a contest to design a beautiful & effective visually appealing barrier-one that doesn't seem like a barrier and doesn't make it look like a makeshift cum permanent eyesore. *Think Gaudi fences in Barcelona instead of fencing in war zones.
Thanks,
Keri Hadfield

Build two cross town tunnels to ELIMINATE a huge amount of traffic in our city. Traffic that simply wants to get from Marin to the peninsula and visa versa.
(1) 19th Avenue: Cut and Cover. No on or off ramps. When finished 19th Avenue can become another Octavia Blvd. Beautiful and tree lined.
(2) From the 80 to the GG Bridge (essentially the Hwy. 101 Tunnel).
If Boston can it, why can't San Francisco? Put Nancy Pelosi to work for us.
