Take down the hanging flower baskets
October 26th, 2007 9:32 am

Let's take down all of the hanging flower baskets and use the resources to make our neighborhood safe. I've noticed that all of the flowers in the Civic Center and around City Hall look healthy and fresh - but along 3rd Street especially between Folsom & Townsend - they are quickly drying out, many have dead spots and trash in them. Maybe the city has already cut back on maintaining them. The real priority for lower Rincon Hill/Eastern SOMA should be protection. My friend's car was broken into two weeks ago, one of my neighbors was raped and a guy Read This Posty »

Homeless Outreach in SOMA
October 3rd, 2007 12:29 pm

This SOMA outreach program in the Chronicle is a GREAT idea.  Daly and the others just don't get how disgusting our streets have become.  Don't they ever walk around downtown?? I hope this plan goes through.  This is a big win for San Francisco! David Read This Posty »

SOMA Streets
June 1st, 2007 9:02 am

Certain SOMA streets such as 7th Street between Bryant and Market, and Howard between 4th and 11th, are unneccessarily wide, a waste of valuable land and arguably adding to the "concrete jungle" effect.  We should implement boulevards much like Octavia, with tree-lined medians and greenspace. Chaz Baird Read This Posty »

T line Muni
May 21st, 2007 8:46 am

Please restore the N line to run to the train station.  The T line runs so infrequently and it is so packed (only one car) that those of us that live in SOMA are forced back into our cars to meet any scheduled appointments. Anne Bement Read This Posty »

Expand Community Courts
May 10th, 2007 9:11 am

I would like to suggest that you consider expanding the Southern boundary of the proposed new Community Court System beyond Harrison Street and to encompass all streets between Harrison and AT&T Park. I will list for you the reasons why this new court system should encompass AT&T Park and the surrounding East SoMa neighborhood. 1. We are faced with several law breaking corner liquor stores selling to already inebriated patrons. We have repeatedly relayed our displeasure to them and the consequences to the neighborhood they make their living in, but our complaints fall on deaf ears. 2. The above mentioned inebriates use our Read This Posty »

Muni #15 (9X)
April 18th, 2007 10:26 am

Muni killed the 15 and replaced it with the 9X due to changes on the 3rd street corridor.  The problem is that the 9X doesn't pass through FIDA / SOMA as the 15 used to do.  Now it is particularly difficult for people who live in Russian Hill, North Beach, or Telegraph to get to and from Downtown.  These are vital residential neighborhoods that ought to have at least 1 option for getting downtown via public transit.  Does Stockton / Chinatown really need a 3rd bus line at the expense of everyone else?  It simply doesn't make sense.  Why don't Read This Posty »

Graffiti and Trash
April 18th, 2007 9:47 am

Dear Mr. Mayor: While I support all the wonderful development deals, the biotech, the SOMA developments, etc. I can't help but feel the quality of life is deteriorating in many of our neighborhoods due to out of control graffiti and dumping of trash on the streets and sidewalks. I for one am tired of living in filth whenever I'm outside my home in the Mission. I'm old enough to remember as time when peer pressure would work. A gentle reminder to someone throwing away a drink cup in a doorway was enough to get that person to stop, think, and dispose of Read This Posty »
