Like everybody else in America, we at ActLocallySF.org are absolutely distraught over the images we’re all seeing from Virginia Tech today. Today was like any other Monday: we had a few things we were working on and cool video we were excited about putting on the site.
It feels like the right thing to do for today is pause for a bit and say a prayer, think a positive thought or do whatever it is you do when a tragedy of this magnitude hits America. There are hundreds of people in America dealing first hand with unspeakable and unimaginable pain as we speak. We’re thinking of them.

Free people of the sentence of drugs, especially psych drugs. We cannot just sit and “pause for a minute” when things like this happen. Shouldn’t we come up with solutions?
When are we going to stand up and unite against the true source of human dissociation of society?

the worst is now over, but if someone still wants to go on a shooting rampage they can - we can do all the increased security this and increased security that, but if some wacko wants to go off; he or she will…
SO! to show that we REALLY care about life and truly want to decrease suffering; let’s be pro-active and start talking about the 100 vehicular-related deaths which occur every day; let’s start driving the speed limit and stop using our vehicles like weapons against each other; let’s start making tough new laws which force vehicle manufacturers to either create responsible advertising - or be banned from the airwaves altogether; let’s start protecting the smallest of things like the threatened and endangered wildlife in our midst; let’s start treating the shy and alienated amongst us with more understanding and compassion; let’s start becoming a sane society which actually values life beyond lip service for once by trying to put our commerce on the back burner, and life on the front burner for once…
yes! let’s get off this virginia tech obsession and start paying attention to what our government is doing behind the latest curtain of media distraction…
