In the past week, more than two-thousand people have signed our petition to bring a Community Justice Center to the Union Square area to address quality-of-life concerns and help make sure more homeless San Franciscans are connected to social services. You can read more about the plan in an opinion article that District Attorney Kamala Harris and the Mayor wrote in Sunday’s San Francisco Chronicle.
For decades, the Tenderloin, Civic Center and South of Market areas have been plagued by the same problems: drugs, theft, prostitution, car break-ins and aggressive panhandling. It is obvious that the status quo is not working. That’s why District Attorney Harris and the Mayor are teaming up to launch the Community Justice Center, a collaborative, problem-solving center with a court onsite. This new center will direct low-level offenders to the life-changing services they so desperately need and provide accountability for their behavior.
The key to the Community Justice Center is that it will have everything under one roof: criminal justice agencies, social service providers and judges. A similar program has worked in New York City and we think it will help create a better living environment and change lives in San Francisco.
Your support is crucial to the success of the Community Justice Center. So please take a couple of seconds to forward this post to five of your friends. Ask them to stand with you in support of the Community Justice Center.

I think that the Community Justice center is a great idea and will really help San Franciscans.
i havent volunteered with Mayor Gavin in awhile, since i am living in AZ now, but i believe in what Gavin is doing for San Francisco. having a social work degree from ASU, anything that assists with helping the homeless and other issues that is positive is a huge step in the right direction.
people, please try and have positive things to say about our Mayor instead of negative things.
there is strong leadership! God bless you all!
