loharob... we don't need a ranting child to point out every flaw in the mayor's budget. Do you actually condone Daly's Childish behavior and personal attacks? Don't you think SF citizens would be better served to have someone who could get things done with some sense of decorum?

Overall Rating: 1

Although I don't always agree with Supervisor Daly, I do admire him for bringing the budget to the forefront of public attention, and made the public aware that the budget is not as simple as the mayor would have us think. Many of the programs that he cut, on the surface look one way, but if you look into them, they have declined greatly over the years (like the Park Patrol. We're paying the same now for 4 officers that we were for 17 a few years back. Where's the money??)
And the police: Where's the accountability? Murder rates climbing, the police are failing, why throw more money at the same broken machine?
Of course the Mayor wants a pork-filled feel-good budget, whether it improves the city or not. Remember, this is the Mayor who tried to DECREASE foot patrols in our most crime-plagued neighborhoods.
Anyone who comes within a few hundred feet of City Hall, or the people who work there, has heard of the cocaine rumors about the Mayor many times before. Is it true? Don't expect honest from this mayor, or his "people."
I think it's good that Daly pointed out that while the Mayor was getting cadillac rehab (if he's going at all), he's cutting the budget for the neediest of addicts seeking to get help.
And now the Mayor is sucking up to the police by offering them a fat raise on the eve of the election season, but is not giving them any incentives for living in the city. Wonder why there's no crime in Novato? Because thats where all the cops live!
Just shovelling $$ at a problem doesn't fix it.

Overall Rating: 1

I'm grateful that PESKIN, not Daly, is the Supervisor for my district. Otherwise, I'd be so embarrassed! And Daly's the same age as I am. That proves that age and maturity are not correlative. I've seen children act with more class and grace.

Overall Rating: 1
