I've found the 311 system to be a fantastic service. The operators are very quick, extremely courteous (unlike Muni for example), and efficient.

I think it's a great way for the city to have a central repository of calls so that city departments can be held accountable for doing their jobs, and so statistics for the city's needs can be collected.

Does each 311 call item have a status? For example, will a call about graffiti be followed up with by the appropriate department and marked as "closed" once it's been dealt with? That is a necessary element to making sure that the system is effective.

I don't know who did the hiring for 311 team, but they really did a great job--it's by far the most professional set of people I've dealt with in City Government. Honestly, where did you find these great employees?

Overall Rating: 10
